Pepper was one of the new dogs in the kennel when he became a world traveler. From his first field assignment in Canada (Live species: Greater short-horned lizards) he traveled to Vietnam to work on a World Wildlife Fund-Vietnam project in Cat Loc, Cat Tien National Park, surveying Javan rhinos.

Pepper now works full time for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife on a long term project in which he and his partner Chevy locate the remains of cougar kills in northeastern Oregon. This is part of a three year long project. His handler is Greg Davidson, ODFW.
